Andrea King is a young and accomplished woman from Georgetown, Guyana who recently won the Miss World Guyana Pageant 2022.
The 25 years old was able to prevail against nine other young women to take the crown at the National Cultural Centre in Georgetown. As the winner of this pageant, she is now set to represent Guyana at the international Miss World pageant.
Andrea is a well-rounded individual who has excelled in both her academic and professional pursuits. She attended The Bishop’s High School in Georgetown from 2008 to 2013, where she likely began to develop her passion for beauty pageants. She went on to attend the University of Guyana from 2016 to 2020, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management.
After graduating from university, Andrea began working for the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT). From July 2019 to December 2019, she served as an intern in Georgetown, before moving on to become a roaming and international services officer from December 2019 to July 2020.
From July 2020 to July 2021, she worked as a project officer for GTT before being promoted to product marketing coordinator from October 2021 to February 2022. Most recently, she worked for ATN International in Georgetown as a project manager from October 2021 to February 2022.
Despite her busy professional life, Andrea always had a desire to participate in a beauty pageant. She had been interested in competing in a Miss World pageant for some time, but it wasn’t until this year that she felt a sudden urge to enter the competition. With the support of her family, friends, and colleagues at GTT, she was able to fulfill her dream and compete in the Miss World Guyana Pageant 2022.
Andrea was chosen to represent the Demerara-Mahaica region in the pageant, and she did not disappoint. She dominated several preliminary competitions and won the multimedia challenge, the people’s choice award, and the head-to-head challenge. Her only second prize was in the Miss Top Model competition.
On the night of the coronation, she graced the stage in a baby pink blush rhinestone gown with chiffon draping, and she was greeted with thunderous applause. She was crowned the new Miss World Guyana, and she will now have the opportunity to represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant.
Andrea takes her new title and responsibilities seriously, as she understands that it comes with a lot of pressure and expectation. She is determined to represent Guyana to the best of her abilities and to bring honor to her country.
As she prepares to compete at the international level, she plans on taking excellence and everything that she’s given in this competition to deliver an even better performance. She also plans on taking the warmth and hospitality of the Guyanese people and sharing it with everyone she meets on the international stage.
Aside from her work and pageantry pursuits, Andrea is a lover of fashion, photography, and dance. Her passion for fashion likely contributed to her success in the Miss World Guyana Pageant, where she was able to showcase her style and elegance on stage. Her love for photography and dance also likely bring an artistic and creative side to her personality that make her a well-rounded and interesting individual.
