Julia Samantha Edima is a Cameroonian actress and beauty queen, who was crowned Miss Cameroon 2022 on January 7th, 2022 at the Polyvalent Sports Palace in Yaoundé.
Julia, who is 26 years old, hails from the southern region of Cameroon and holds a master’s degree in business communication.
Julia succeeded Audrey Nabila Monkam as Miss Cameroon and will represent her country in the next edition of Miss World.
During her reign, Julia aims to focus on mental health advocacy, a cause close to her heart. On her social media page, Julia expressed her gratitude to her fans, and thanked the Almighty God and Comica for the opportunity to make her dream come true.
As the winner of the prestigious beauty contest, Julia received a check for five million CFA francs, an all-expenses-paid apartment, and a red Hyundai Santa Fe car. She was also granted a monthly salary of 100 Fcfa and telephones from Camtel.
When asked about the modest salary compared to her status as a national beauty queen, Julia explained that being Miss Cameroon is not just about the salary, but also about the opportunity to win many contracts, make contacts, and carry out the project for which she was voted.
On March 1st, 2022, the prize-giving ceremony for beauty queens was held at the Ministry of Arts and Culture, where Julia and her runners-up received checks from Ingrid Amougou, the founding president of Comica. Julia’s vision for her term is to concretize her project by raising awareness and building a center to help the mentally ill. She plans to carry out this vision with the help of her supporters and sponsors.
