Miriam Xorlasi Tordzeagbo is a 22-year-old teacher who was crowned Miss Ghana 2022. She is the proud winner of the national beauty pageant and will represent Ghana at the upcoming edition of Miss World.

Miriam Xorlasi Biography

Miriam is from the Central Tongu District in the Volta Region of Ghana. She was born in Tongor Kaira, South Dayi District, Volta Region to Tordzeagbo Eugene Yao and Anyadi Yohebeth. She grew up in Battor Dugame, North Tongu District, Volta Region.

Her parents are Tordzeagbo Eugene Yao and Anyadi Yohebeth. In 2013, she wrote her Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) from Mafi Dove D/A Junior High School in Mafi-Dove, Central Tongu District. In 2016, she graduated from Adidome Senior High School in Adidome, Central Tongu District.

In 2019, she graduated from the Holy Spirit College of Education in Ho, Volta Region, where she obtained her diploma in basic education.

Miriam is passionate about education, and she serves as a volunteer for Savana Signatures, a nongovernmental organization in the Central Tongu District where she teaches.

The Miss Ghana 2022 beauty pageant was held by Exclusive Events Ghana at the Avenue Event Centre by Unique Floral, East Airport, Accra. It was attended by a large number of beauty audiences.

Miriam Xorlasi was crowned Miss World Ghana at the finale held on August 14, 2022, at The Avenue Event Centre by Unique Floral, East Airport, Accra.

Miriam faced tough competition from sixteen other contestants to win the national crown. She also won four special awards at the pageant – Beauty with a Purpose award, Miss Fitness, Best in Talent, and Top Model.

Miriam faced huge competition from a 19-year-old first-year student of University Ghana, Rocklyn Elinam Krampah, who has been adjudged the first runner-up, and 27-year-old University of Ghana graduate, Irene Vanessa Vifah, who also won the second runner-up position. 

Beauty With A Purpose

She is hopeful to make history by bringing home the first-ever Miss World crown. According to her, she is passionate about the aged, and she would be working with the Miss Ghana Foundation to support the aged who are suffering from various sicknesses.

Miriam is an ambitious young woman who has big dreams. She loves to enlighten others with knowledge and hopes to own a renowned restaurant and a home for the aged.

While reigning as Miss Ghana 2022, she also serves as the deputy commissioner for the Ghana Girls Guides Association and a member of Global Women Development Promoters (GIOWDEP).

On winning the crown, Miriam took to her official social media page to express her gratitude. She wrote, “Few weeks ago, I was just a young girl from Adidome with big dreams. Today, I woke up as Miss Ghana 2022. I can’t just explain enough how grateful I am to carry this title of service for the next year.”

“I want to say a very big thank you to all who were there for me on my journey to the crown. I am calling on you all to still stand by me as we go out to do amazing things for our motherland. My name is Miriam Xorlasi Tordzeagbo, and I am your Miss World Ghana 2022,” she added.
