Audrey Vanessa Susilo is a remarkable young woman who was crowned Miss Indonesia 2022 on September 15, 2022.
Audrey Vanessa Biography
Audrey Vanessa hails from North Sulawesi and was born and raised in the city of Manado to a Chinese-Indonesian father Rudy Susilo and mother Grace Shella. Audrey is 22 years old, stands 170 cm tall, and is a Catholic.
Audrey has one younger sister and one younger brother. Her family, including her parents, is fond of music. Audrey is also passionate about music and is skilled in playing the violin and piano.
She completed her bachelor’s degree (S1) majoring in Accounting and Finance at Monash University in 2021. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree (S2) in Banking and Finance at the same university in Melbourne, Australia.
Apart from being a brilliant student, Audrey has also established a non-government organization called ‘Reeformers’ with her friends. The organization aims to save coral reefs and revive the economy and potential of traditional fishermen in the outer islands of Indonesia. She is also an environmentalist and takes action to clean up trash with local residents. Audrey believes that waste management is essential to save the planet and encourages people to reduce, reuse and recycle plastic waste.
Audrey represented North Sulawesi at the Miss Indonesia 2022 pageant and emerged victorious, beating thirty-six other contestants. At the finale, she also won the titles of Talent and Social Media fast track competitions. She speaks fluent English and several other languages, including French, Mandarin, Indonesian, and Minahasa. Audrey is concerned about poverty and education issues in her country and believes that education is a powerful tool to fight poverty.
Audrey will now represent Indonesia at the 71st edition of the Miss World pageant. She is well-prepared for the competition and aims to represent Indonesia with authenticity. The country has never won the Miss World crown, but Audrey’s participation suggests that they may soon have a Miss World titleholder.
Indonesia has come a long way in beauty pageants since the early 1970s, when it banned its citizens from participating. The country returned to Miss World in 2005 and has since climbed seven places to rank 45th at the Big5 Ranking.
Audrey Vanessa Susilo is a young woman with a mission to make a positive impact in her community and country. She is an excellent role model and ambassador for Indonesia.
