Xaria Penn is an 19-year-old beauty from Tortola, British Virgin Islands, who was crowned as Miss Universe British Virgin Islands 2021.
She is the daughter of two accomplished individuals, Devon Penn and Symone Davis-Penn, who are both very active in their respective fields.
Xaria’s father, Devon Penn, is a senior pastor at Spirit and Truth BVI, a Christian ministry in the British Virgin Islands, while her mother, Symone Davis-Penn, is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, an international, historically African American sorority.
Xaria, who stands tall at six feet, graduated with honors from the British Virgin Islands Seventh-day Adventist School in Tortola in 2020, and then enrolled at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College in Paraquita Bay, British Virgin Islands.
Xaria has been associated with modeling and fashion since 2019, when she attended the 11th annual Summer Sizzle BVI modeling show. Since then, she has worked with various fashion brands, including the Caribbean clothing brand Duo Collection.
In May 2021, Xaria was part of a Duo Collection swimsuit photoshoot held at the Long Bay Beach Resort in the British Virgin Islands. She also spent her summer in 2021 at the Wyndham Lambert Beach Resort in Tortola, and visited the Yolo Adventures BVI at the Scrub Island Resort in the British Virgin Islands in June 2021.
Miss Universe British Virgin Islands 2021 coronation ceremony was held at Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium on the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College campus in Paraquita Bay, where she competed against two other finalists, Lia Claxton and Kasaddi Chalwell, to win the title. She also won three awards – Best Swimwear, Best Evening Wear, and Best Interview.
In December 2021, Xaria represented the British Virgin Islands at Miss Universe 2021 and competed against 79 other candidates in Eilat, Israel. Although she was unplaced, she made a memorable impression on the global stage with her poise and grace.
In September 2022, Xaria walked the runway at the New York Fashion Week in New York City, alongside another model from the British Virgin Islands.
Xaria Penn is set to represent the British Virgin Islands at the 71st Miss World competition in May 2023. With her modeling experience and poise, Xaria is poised to make her country proud on the international stage.
